
In response to a letter to the editor that appeared in August 9, 2017, South Whibey Record, our little, semi-weekly community paper in which the author praised her experience with the medical system in Scotland, “Whidbey woman experiences single payer health care, fast and free,” I wrote a long response that Doug, my husband, thought was too wordy. He suggested the shortened version that appeared in the August 26, 2017 edition.
A few thoughts on single-payer health care
I wanted to make a statement because I don’t like people being led to believe that government-run health care is not all that people dream it to be.
